Devizes School is delighted to announce that Julian Morgan has been appointed the school’s new principal. Julian has been involved in education for nearly 25 years, a majority of which were spent in senior leadership and headship roles. After a transition period, Mr Morgan will join Devizes School in September.
Replacing Phil Bevan, who will be leaving the school to pursue a headship at Faringdon Community College, Julian Morgan will use his passion and experience to continue the recent progress made at the school.
Having started his career as a history teacher, Mr Morgan has gained many years of experience in education leadership. During his time as principal at a secondary school in Staffordshire, he successfully took the school’s Ofsted rating from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ behaviour and safety. More recently, Mr Morgan has been secondary director and regional director for Swindon at The White Horse Federation multi-academy trust.
Upon being appointed principal, Julian Morgan said: “I would like to thank Phil for his hard work and diligence in the role. Devizes School finds itself in a very good position, and I look forward to building upon the progress that has been made under his headship.”
“Being a school principal is the best job in the world and I have missed it. I am very excited to start meeting parents and members of the school community as soon as it is possible.”
Julian Morgan’s appointment at Devizes School will begin in September. Julian will work closely with Phil Bevan to make sure this transition is as smooth as possible.
Once he is in post, Julian will communicate his vision and strategy for improvement at the school in a statement addressed to staff, parents, and the local press.
