In such an extraordinary year, we want to congratulate the exceptional students of Devizes Sixth Form.
For their A Levels, our sixth form students have worked hard and made sacrifices. Over the past two years, students have achieved not only academic success but have also grown as young adults. We always say to our students to “expect more, get more, and be more”, and we can certainly see this today. We are so proud of each and every one of them, and we are delighted to be sending such well-rounded and well-qualified young people out into the world.
There are always personal stories behind every set of results, and again this year there are so many individual and collective successes to celebrate. We are delighted that these strong results have ensured that most of our students have now secured places on their chosen courses and at their desired universities. Although the full picture has yet to emerge, it looks very positive so far, with students securing university choices and other pathways - a foot on the ladder for future success.
This is the first cohort of students from our sixth form collaboration with Lavington School. At Devizes, we have a strong proven success at sixth form, and during this difficult year we have seen how much stronger our schools are when we work together. Under the excellent leadership of Clare Dale and Zoe Telford, staff across both schools have provided quality teaching and superb support for our year 13 students throughout the last two years.
Despite the difficult circumstances surrounding the award of these qualifications, our students should know we are very proud of them and their achievements. We wish all our students every success in the next exciting part of their journey through life.
