THE SCHOOL IS PARTIALLY OPEN FOR CRITICAL KEY WORKING FAMILIES AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Dear parents, carers, and students,
During these unprecedented times the very best people don’t just hope things will be better, they do the best they can in whatever circumstances they find themselves to make things better. At Devizes we live by our school values, this is even more important than ever before.
We have the COURAGE to always try and do the right thing even when that is difficult.
We have PRIDE in ourselves, each other and the school.
We have the RESILIENCE to never give up and always bounce back.
We do this in the spirit of KINDNESS, TRUST and CHEERFULNESS.
We always say that ‘Better people make better schools and better people make better communities.’
While we absolutely miss seeing all of our brilliant students we are also incredibly proud that they are demonstrating our school values in abundance. Students are doing their bit to support the country, by staying at home, engaging brilliantly with home learning, keeping themselves well and safe, whilst being kind to their family, friends and community. We have been overwhelmed by how everyone is pulling together and supporting our school community and beyond. There are so many stories of wonderful deeds and acts of kindness, but we only have space to share one. On Thursday evenings, all of us have been out clapping and supporting our amazing key workers and especially the staff in the NHS. Lacey and her siblings have gone even further and have created this wonderful celebration that won the Rainbow Competition in Devizes with the local police. They gained the privilege of doing an 8pm applause for the NHS & key workers on their doorstep with all the police cars, blue lights and sirens. As Mum Sam, said “The smiles on their faces were priceless.” We are incredibly proud of you Lacey.
Take care of yourself, and others
Phil Bevan, Principal
