Gandhi is best known for his non-violent opposition to oppression and the movement for India’s independence. His simple life and willingness to look for the good in everyone is part of the ethos of Gandhi House.
The students selected our motto ‘be the change you wish to see’ through a study of Gandhi’s work and sayings, this is their version of Gandhi’s famous quote
‘Be the change that you want to see in the world.’
We will be further developing our vision this year incorporating the London 2012 legacy ideals of inspiring a generation with Gandhi’s words:
In a gentle way, you can shake the world.
A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes.
Gandhi House puts the students at the heart of all we do. By having an active and influential House council who meet weekly being both the voice of the House as well as the leaders behind events and competitions we run. They will be involved in leading our fund raising events again this year for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
