Home School Agreement Policy Print

The school will:
  • Provide a safe, orderly and supportive environment in which all pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential;
  • provide an appropriate curriculum for all pupils, including a wide range of extra-curricular activities;
  • contact parents if there is a problem with behaviour, attendance, punctuality, uniform, equipment, homework or coursework;
  • let parents know about concerns or problems that affect their child’s work and keep the parents informed about the achievements of their child;
  • provide parents with regular information on pupils’ progress and school courses through the Parent Handbook, annual reports, parents’ evenings, letters and meetings;
  • keep parents informed about the life and activities of the school via the school newsletter and website;
  • provide and promote the use of the homework planner and monitor its use in lessons;
  • regularly set and mark homework for all pupils in line with the homework timetable and policy;
  • provide an open and welcoming environment at school and offer opportunities for parents to become involved in the life of the school.

As a parent, I will:

  • support the school aims, policies and guidelines and encourage my child to follow them;
  • make sure that my child attends school regularly, on time and is properly equipped;
  • inform the school promptly of any circumstances that may affect my child’s progress;
  • encourage my child to respect others and their property;
  • support the school’s behaviour and anti-bullying policies by encouraging high standards of conduct;
  • support the school’s policy on uniform by supplying the uniform and encouraging my child to wear it;
  • attend parents’ evenings and respond to reports and letters as requested;
  • support the school’s homework policy by providing a suitable place and time for my child to complete homework, take an interest in his/her work and sign the homework diary/planner each week.

As a pupil, I will:

  • attend school, be punctual and be properly equipped;
  • wear the school uniform correctly;
  • use my homework diary/planner properly and show it to my parent(s) regularly;
  • show respect to all staff and pupils; complete all my classwork, homework and coursework as well as I can;
  • embrace the aims of the Vertical Tutor Group system and participate fully as an active and co-operative member of my tutor group;
  • show respect to all staff and other students;
  • complete all my classwork, homework and coursework as well as i can;
  • accept the authority of all staff at school;
  • talk to my parent(s) and/or my teachers about my successes and problems at school;
  • respect school property and equipment;
  • follow the school policies and code of conduct;
  • embrace the principles of the school as a Specialist Sports College, based on the Olympic and Paralympic values;
