National Poetry Day Visit

Year 9 were lucky enough to spend National Poetry Day listening to the vocal talents of the incredible performance poet Toby Thompson as part of the Bath Children's Literature Festival. The writer and performer who  has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury and the Camden Roundhouse spoke to students about how he began writing poetry at the age of 14 inspired by a love of hip-hop.

Year 9 students were treated to some of Toby’s poetry during a morning assembly.  He then worked with a group of students to create their very own pieces of poetry inspired by nature to be displayed within the school.

Thank you to Toby for spending time at our school, he was very much appreciated by our students and staff and has certainly inspired our students to write more poetry.
