Today we welcomed ex student Jamie Gay to the TED Faculty who gave a cookery demo masterclass to Year 10 Food Tech students. Jamie, 19 who left school to do a catering course at Trowbridge College now works for Michelin Star Chef Guy Manning at The Red Lion, East Chisenbury.
During a double cookery lesson Jamie demonstrated his amazing cookery skills by producing stuffed chicken Ballotine with white wine shallot sauce and sautéed potatoes. The main focus of the demonstration was on presentation skills.
Each of the Food tech students then produced the same dish being very careful to present it beautifully. A brilliant opportunity to learn how to cook a very tasty dish from a very talented former student.
Food Tech teacher Miss Willis said ‘we were lucky enough to have Jamie Gay, an ex Devizes School student come back to inspire the next generation of cooks. Our students were engaged and enthusiastic throughout and it showcased great talent within the classed’
