Joining Devizes School

Pupils in their final year at Primary School are invited to spend two days at Devizes School at the end of the Summer term.  During these two days the pupils are organised into their new tutor groups.  They meet their Head of Year and tutor team and follow a timetable of lessons and activities in order toprepare them for entry into Year 7.  People moving in to the area are invited to telephone the school (01380 724886) and an appointment will be made for you to meet the Deputy Head responsible for Admissions. Students from other schools interested in joining Devizes School Sixth Form should contact Mr. G. R. Evans, Head of Sixth Form, to make an appointment.  A Sixth Form Prospectus is also available, please contact Mr. Evans for a copy.

Lunch Arrangements

Pupils may purchase a prepared meal in Lower School Hall. Pupils may also bring food from home and may eat this in one of the other school halls, where they may also purchase snacks. Pupils may only leave the school premises to have lunch at home with their parents’ permission. Such pupils will also have a lunch pass with their photograph on it.

Pupils can take part in a variety of activities at lunchtime. A list of these activities is sent home regularly. In addition, there are areas set aside for pupils to sit and talk and a study room where the pupils can work. The library and computing rooms are also open to pupils, as is the school field and hard surfaced areas on the field.
