We organise and operate the school in a variety of high achieving, inter-related teams.
The school governors are a group of local people, staff and parents who essentially own the school and employ its staff. They are charged with the responsibility to support and challenge the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team
The Senior Leadership Team consists of the Principal and three Vice Principals. This team agrees whole school strategy and policy, evaluates the effectiveness of the school, and helps to maintain standards of teaching and learning and behaviour through their line management of the Subject and House Leaders.
Heads of Faculty represent the 15 main subject areas of the school. They are responsible and accountable for the teaching and learning and the academic outcomes of their subject areas. As a team they also develop strategies collectively to improve the school.
The school’s pastoral system is organised on a horizontal basis. There are 4 Raising Achievement Leaders; one is in charge of Year 6 transition and Year 7, the second is responsible for Year 8 and 9, the third is for KS4 - years 10 and 11, the last one is in charge of the 6th Form. There are a team of tutors for each RAL plus a pastoral leader. Each tutor is responsible for an average of 26 students and the tutor group meets for 20 minutes a day.
The school has a large number of dynamic and highly effective support staff who operate in teams to ensure that everything from school finance to site management is highly efficient and in support of the school’s aims and ambitions.
